| The Deputy Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Engagement serves as a senior leader within Chico State Athletics and is responsible for the strategic oversight, administration, and daily management of the department’s NCAA compliance program and student-athlete engagement initiatives. This position serves as the department’s chief compliance administrator and ensures adherence to NCAA, conference, CSU, and University policies, procedures, and regulations.
This position provides direct supervision and leadership for key areas that support student-athlete engagement, campus and community partnerships, and department operations, including Student-Athlete Success and External Operations. The position also serves as sport administrator for designated intercollegiate athletics programs, providing oversight, guidance and support to assigned teams, and serves as the department’s Deputy Title IX Coordinator, and participates fully on the Athletics senior leadership team.

| Working independently, under general oversight of the Head Athletic Trainer, the incumbent will perform the full range of athletic training functions to support the 13 varsity intercollegiate athletic teams sponsored by the Department of Athletics. Responsibilities include coverage in the athletic training room, at team practices and competitions (home and away), on-court/field set-up of athletic training equipment, as well as water and post-practice follow-up care and assessment of injuries. Additionally, incumbent will develop, design and implement appropriate injury treatment plans and rehabilitation plans according to best practice and industry standards, coordinate with Head Athletic Trainer and other senior athletic trainers to insure adequate coverage of all sports, and perform administrative tasks related to the position.

This hands-on position provides instructional, technical, operational, and safety support for the Environmental Studies Area (ESA), NSME greenhouse facilities, and school-wide laboratory operations.
The position coordinates daily ESA and greenhouse operations; maintains living collections, environmental systems, equipment, and instructional resources; and supports faculty and students engaged in laboratory instruction, field-based learning, and research.
