The Laborer position is responsible for special event set-up and take-down; loading and unloading furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials; removing and hauling waste and recyclables from central aggregation areas and event or clean-up sites; and performing a variety of manual labor duties. Laborers perform tasks such as moving heavy furniture, equipment, and materials; cleaning assigned areas, including removing construction debris; cleaning gutters, culverts, drainage structures, roadsides, and streets; power washing; cleaning equipment; and supporting special cleaning projects. Reporting to Facilities Development & Operations, this position plays a key role in coordinating custodial services across academic, administrative, housing, and event spaces. The Custodial Coordinator assists with scheduling, work assignments, quality control inspections, and staff coordination across multiple shifts. This role supports compliance with CSU standards, health and safety regulations, and sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction and recycling programs. The coordinator also works closely with supervisors, Facilities Work Control, and campus partners to respond to service requests, special events, and operational needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in custodial operations, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a diverse campus environment.
