The Lab Research Technician ensures the continuous production, collection, processing, and archiving of environmental data collected at a meso-network of biometeorological field sites across California for the Cal State East Bay campus. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and calibration of on-going field measurements of carbon, water and energy exchange between vegetation canopies and the atmosphere and the environmental sensors that measure the condition of the air, soil and water. The Lab Research Technician trains and provides lead work direction to undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and visitors on laboratory and field techniques, as needed. This position writes analysis reports on sensor performance tests and calibrations, data quality and gap filling, and processes raw meteorological data to compute eddy covariance fluxes of mass and energy exchange.
