The Department of Child Development at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications from a diverse group of qualified applicants for a full-time, Lecturer position in Child and Adolescent Development to be located at the University’s satellite campus in Palm Desert. The position begins August 2024. The Department is seeking applicants who have expertise in early childhood (birth to age 8) but who can also teach courses in a variety of general developmental areas that include early childhood but extend into middle childhood, adolescence, and the overall field of child and adolescent development. Area of concentration within early childhood is open, although at least some training in special education is preferred. The Department of Child Development is committed to hiring and supporting BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or people of color) faculty. The Department of History at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) invites applications for the W. Benson Harer Egyptology Scholar in Residence. A successful candidate will be a member of the CSUSB community for one semester, either Fall 2024 (mid Aug- mid Dec) or Spring 2025 (mid Jan – late May). This position is designed for scholars taking a semester sabbatical from a home institution or as a postdoc for an up incoming scholar. The applicant should specialize in Ancient Egyptian History, Archaeology, Religion, Society, or Art anytime between the Predynastic to the Roman Periods. The successful candidate will receive housing, a partial meal plan, $2,500 towards relocation expenses, and a $26,000 stipend. CSUSB hosts the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art (RAFFMA), which includes an important collection of approximately 500 artifacts dating from the Predynastic Period to the Coptic Period. Area of concentration is open, although expertise in substance abuse, PTSD/trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, aging, interpersonal relationships/social connection, discrimination/mental-health disparities, evidence-based treatments for mental-health disorders, AI/machine-learning applications to mental health research, clinical health psychology and/or mental health outcomes in neurologic/medical populations would complement our department's research focus. A successful candidate will be able to teach undergraduate and master’s level graduate courses in clinical/counseling psychology (e.g. courses on psychotherapy, mental health disorders, clinical assessment & diagnosis), along with additional courses of the candidate’s choosing. Successful candidates will have demonstrated potential for success in securing extramural funding and the ability to supervise, mentor, and involve undergraduate and graduate students in their program of research. Candidates who are licensed or license eligible in the state of California (completion of 1500 hours of supervised post-doctoral experience) are strongly encouraged to apply. The Kinesiology Department at California State University, San Bernardino is seeking part-time lecturer applications from a diverse group of qualified individuals for both our San Bernardino Campus (SBC) as well as our Palm Desert Campus (PDC). The department is seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in any of our three concentrations: Allied Health Professions, Exercise Science, and Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education. Subject areas may include the following: Biomechanics, motor development, motor learning, physical education, adapted physical education, sport and exercise physiology, sport and exercise psychology, sociology of sport, statistics in kinesiology, and other kinesiology related classes such as, but not limited to, activities classes. Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree, or specialized certification for activity classes, in a field of Kinesiology or related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary. Staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term.
