| Under the general supervision of a Physician and the direction of the Executive Director, the Nurse Practitioner delivers comprehensive primary health care services at the Student Health Center (SHC). These services include assessment, diagnosis, preventive care, and health maintenance. Working under a physician’s supervision and following established standardized procedures and/or process protocols, the Nurse Practitioner collaborates with the SHC Executive Director and supervising Physician(s) to develop and refine these procedures and define the position’s scope of practice. Responsibilities include performing physical examinations; diagnosing, treating, and managing illnesses and injuries; ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests; and counseling patients on preventive health. The Nurse Practitioner also leads infection prevention and control initiatives for the Palm Desert Campus SHC and participates in health promotion activities on campus. This role is primarily based at the Palm Desert campus, with occasional work at the San Bernardino campus. |

The incumbent works under the supervision of a physician using established standardized procedures and/or process protocols. The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with the SHC Executive Director and their supervising Physician(s) to develop standardized procedures and/or process protocols and scope of practice for their position. The Associate Dean will ensure policy implementation, champion excellence in teaching and learning, and promote innovation to enhance student experiences. The Department Chair provides collaborative, equity-centered leadership within a shared governance environment and is responsible for advancing academic excellence, accreditation compliance, faculty development, student success, strategic planning, enrollment management, resource stewardship, and community engagement.
