Department Summary:

The Human Resource Department, through its embodiment of the University’s strategic and operational goals, supports students, faculty, and staff by providing innovative, transformational, and inclusive services and programs.

Job Summary:

Provide confidential office support to the Employee & Labor Relations area of the Human Resources Department. Under general direction from the Director of Employee and Labor Relations, the incumbent is a professional with a significant understanding of employee and labor relations matters. The incumbent will provide support in essential areas in employee and labor relations, such as clerical functions, contract administration, support with grievances, request for information, and scheduling. Must be well-rounded in CSU policy and collective bargaining agreements. The individual will exercise professional discretion.

Employment Status: Full-time, Probationary, "Exempt" position (with the possibility of converting to permanent)

First Review Deadline: This position will remain open until filled. The initial review of applications will begin on November 16, 2021.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, weekends and evenings may be required

Key Qualifications:

  • Fundamental written and oral communication skills, including a basic foundation of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to understand basic office procedures.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to use the utmost discretion and keep sensitive information confidential.
  • Ability to work as a team player and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure Basic typing and keyboard skills Proficient in MS Office Suite Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
  • Previous work experience in a higher education unionized environment.
  • Experience providing office support for the employee and labor relations area.


Anticipated Hiring Range: $3,204 - $5,683 per month

Classification Salary Range: $3,204 - $5,683 per month
