The Office of Academic Programs ensures the undergraduate and graduate degrees, minors, post-baccalaureate certificate programs support the University’s Learning Outcomes and the Meaning of a CSUSB Degree in service to all students. The office oversees academic program planning, review, assessment, and accreditation. Academic Programs offers faculty professional development in support of assessment and continuous improvement of educational programs, general education, writing-intensive programs, and high-impact practices. We

The Office is responsible for creating the Academic Calendar, the University's Course Catalog, the course schedule, and operationalizing relevant Title Five California Code of Regulations, WSCUC requirements, and CSU policies and procedures.
Under general supervision of the Deputy Provost and Vice Provost for Academic Programs who oversees academic program planning, review, assessment, and accreditation. The incumbent will be expected to serve as the primary contact for Academic Programs and serve as the executive assistant to the Deputy Provost and Vice Provost. The ability to multitask and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously is a must. Provide high-level administrative support and executive independent decision on day-to-day administrative operations including procurement, travel, processing payroll, events, and activities that often involve coordination with various executive offices such as the University President, offices of the Vice Presidents, Academic Deans, and other CSU Leadership.
Employment Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Probationary with the possibility of converting to permanent.

- Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, weekends and evenings may be required.
- Experience to be fully functional in all technical aspects of work assignments.
- Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of the university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
- Thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Thorough knowledge of office systems and expertise in using office software packages, technology, and systems. May function as the official information technology specialist.
- Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.
- Ability to interpret and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures independently, and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents or specific guidelines do not exist.
- Ability to troubleshoot most office administration problems and respond to all inquiries and requests related to the work area.
- Ability to understand problems from a broader perspective and anticipate the impact of office administration problems and solutions on other areas.
- Ability to analyze operations and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions.
- Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track and analyze financial and/or budgetary data, and make accurate projections requiring some inference.
- Ability to effectively write and present own reports.
- Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels and handle highly sensitive interpersonal situations.
- Ability to use negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve results and expedite projects.
- Experience working in a high-level executive office.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or its equivalent AND five years of progressively responsible experience in general office clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $3,600 - $4,000 per month
Classification Salary Range: $3,352 - $5,639 per month
