Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director for Technology Support Center, the Analyst Programmer assists in the development and provides administrative support for the Enterprise Service Management tool. This position will assist higher skill level personnel in meeting with different stakeholders to review their service offerings and workflows before onboarding onto the Enterprise Service Management tool. This position also helps with the transformation of campus processes into digital workflow, building out basic customized processes and looking for ways to improve efficiency by automation.

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Under direct supervision, the incumbent will assist, within a limited scope, the following duties of system development and refer problems to senior staff.
  • Foundational level development for the Enterprise Service Management system by addressing common problems of limited scope.
  • Under direct supervision, the incumbent will meet with departments to understand their service offerings, design process workflows, develop digital forms, build custom solutions, and onboard and train on the ESM platform.
  • Assist with management and maintenance of ITS, College techs, Human Resources Accounting and other department digital forms, processes, and workflow in Cherwell. • Assist career level staff and above in collaboration with departments to evaluate, automize and improve processes in Cherwell to improve efficiency.
  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and tracking ITS software asset management records in Cherwell.
  • Under direct supervision, complete weekly enhancement requests to the Cherwell application, within a limited scope, as requested and assigned by supervisor.
  • Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures and refer to appropriate party for resolution.
  • Entry level ability to write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary. Supervisor or lead will approve any script before being placed into production.
  • Compose reports detailing the changes made with each bug fix.
  • Assist with critical analysis of test results and be present when a more senior staff suggests solutions to problem areas.
  • Train end users to operate new or modified workflows and programs.
  • Collaborate with other team members working on issues to reduce duplicated efforts.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify new ways of achieving each project’s user experience and security goals while referring final solutions to more senior staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, in a computer science field that requires programming.
  • Six (6) months of Information Technology trainee experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Great customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage time and priorities.
  • Reading and comprehending, writing, communicating verbally, reasoning and analyzing.
  • Experience in developing processes to test, evaluate, and recommend the use of computing technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic Knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • Basic administrative experience of an Enterprise Service Management Too.
  • Basic hardware and software technologies.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and to meet deadlines and milestones.
  • Patience and well-developed interpersonal relations skills.
  • Previous experience working in a higher education environment is highly desired.
    Basic APIs knowledge or experience.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,300 - $4,500 per month

Classification Salary Range: $3,713 - $7,149 per month

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Position Information:

Work status: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Temporary (up to one year with the possibility of further renewal)

Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, weekends and evenings may be required.
