JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Public Administration at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications for a Full Time Lecturer position to begin August 2026.
The Department of Public Administration seeks an energetic and innovative educator to join the team as a full time Lecturer beginning August 2026. Candidates must be qualified to teach NASPAA and AACSB accredited courses in both upper division undergraduate and Master’s level public administration. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching and public service practitioner experience.
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Full Time Lecturers focus on teaching. The teaching load for a Full Time Lecturer begins at a 5/5 load, but may be reduced through other duties, including large class courses and service releases.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and community leaders within the Inland Empire region of CA.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A terminal degree in Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field is required by time of appointment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Evidence of exemplary teaching and leadership experience at program level is preferred.
- Professional leadership experience in public a public service field.
- Evidence of intellectual engagement through scholarly activity, publication, and professional consulting is valued.
- Interest and ability to engage strategically in support of department programmatic and community engagement goals.

The Department of Public Administration at CSUSB offers an undergraduate degree in Public Service, a concentration in Public Administration in the BA in Administration offered by the JHB College of Business and Public Administration, and a NASPAA Accredited MPA degree. The MPA offers six separate concentrations (Leadership, Community Planning and Management, Public Financial Management, Non-Profit Management, Human Resource Management and Cybersecurity as well as a concurrent degree with the Master’s in Social Work.
