The Graduate Assistant position is distinguished from those classifications used for undergraduate student help in the instructional program who perform clerical or other routine tasks such as grading examinations, recording grades, etc., by the following: Graduate Assistants are provided part-time employment and practical experience in fields related to their advanced study. Graduate Assistants can also provide professional non-teaching assistance to faculty members. Graduate Assistant work may involve supervising students in a classroom, workshop, or laboratory (where final responsibility for the class and its entire instruction, including the performance of the Graduate Assistant, is vested in a member of the faculty); training students in the use of equipment or other resources; assisting faculty with research and preparation of course materials; participating in the evaluation of students’ work; tutoring students; and other related work. Graduate Assistants are not responsible for the instructional content of a course, selecting student assignments, planning of examinations, determining the term grade for students, instructing the entire enrollment of a course, or providing the entire instruction of a group of students enrolled in a course. Graduate Assistants may not be employed to assist in a course in which they are enrolled, nor should they be consulted regarding the grading of their peers. |

The Department of Public Administration is seeking to hire part-time instructors to teach within our NASPAA-accredited MPA program and our newly created Bachelor of Arts in Public Service. All courses are taught online, using the Canvas and Zoom platforms. The MPA program offers seven core courses (History and Theory; Research Methods; Budgeting; Human Resources, Public Management; Policy Analysis; and Strategic Planning) and 5 concentration courses. The department offers concentrations in Leadership, Public Financial Management, Non-Profit Management, HUman Resource Management, and Community Planning and Management. 5 concentration courses. The Department has an existing California County Cohort program serving students from across the state. The Police Dispatcher(s) will perform a full range of standard dispatch classification related duties on rotating shifts. The Police Dispatcher(s) will receive information, complaints, requests and signals from a variety of communication equipment. CSUSB Geology Teaching Associates (TAs) may be responsible for one or more GEOL 1000L Introductory Geology Laboratory sections, or may support a faculty member in an upper division geology class. TAs teaching GEOL 1000L are solely responsible for their assigned section(s), including being present in person for all class meetings during the semester, being available for meetings with the laboratory coordinator and other teaching assistants, maintaining the shared lab space including cleaning up after assigned lab sections, assessing student work, and meeting with students outside of class during regularly scheduled office hours. TAs supporting an upper division geology class will work with the faculty member teaching the class to determine the TA responsibilities. |

The Director, Tribal Relations will provide strategic development and operational objectives and is responsible for the overall administration of tribal relations programs to the President, Senior Leadership and campus communities by building and sustaining relationships with the Native Nations within CSUSB service area, state-wide and Native American serving organizations. This position serves as the primary point of contact with Native American tribes, federal and state agencies, and applicable consultants. This position is responsible for Tribal regulatory compliance, consultation and communication, outreach, and records management. The Director will collaborate ongoing Native American Initiatives and events with Admissions, Student Affairs, Faculty. The Director will retain campus regulatory compliance authority over all tribal Native American collections under the administrative control of the University, including oversight of NAGPRA and CALNAPRA compliance requirements. |
