About the Position:
The University Learning Center (ULC) is an important component of Undergraduate Academic Programs, in the Division of Academic Affairs at Cal State Fullerton. We believe that all learners need support that extends beyond the classroom to reinforce and amplify daily lessons. Research shows that students who engage in tutoring, and attend study groups, achieve higher grades than those who do not. Our focus is the undergraduate 100- and 200-level high-impact, bottleneck General Education courses. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the University Learning Center (ULC) and Supplemental Instruction (SI) Administrative Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist Non-Exempt). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Under the general management of the Associate Vice President for Academic Support, the Administrative Analyst provides a variety of administrative and analytical support for the ULC and SI program. Responsibilities include administrative duties, human resource tasks, budget and financial work, and coordination with Information Technology (IT).
Related duties include but are not limited to: solving problems and interpreting procedures for students, staff, and faculty; assisting with analyzing current operation policies and procedures and developing new procedures as needed; coordinating travel arrangements and processing documents; ordering supplies and equipment; supporting arrangements for meetings and events (semester training, year-events, etc.); assisting with scheduling classrooms for SI and ULC sessions. The Administrative Analyst provides HR support, assists with searches and the hiring and processing of SI and ULC student employees and leaders; prepares hiring and payroll documents; helps review student payroll time sheet entries. Serve as the Department IT Coordinator. The Administrative Analyst manages email accounts and tracks IT equipment and IT purchases. Provides budget support and assists with researching, analyzing, and creating budget and financial reports; processes financial transactions; tracks expenditures, and reconciles procurement cards. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications
|
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. Working knowledge of the general practices, program, or administrative specialty. Basic knowledge of and the ability to apply fundamental concepts. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit, or administrative specialty. Knowledge of and the ability to apply basic methods and procedures used for research and statistical analysis. Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques. Ability to make independent decisions, exercise sound judgment, handle multiple priorities, and organize and plan work assignments. Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications
|
General knowledge and skills in student support services. Knowledge of student learning support programs, such as tutoring, supplemental instruction, etc. Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details. Demonstrated skills in organization and project management. Demonstrated ability and skills to be flexible and adaptable to change. Proficient in using up-to-date technology and common software, including Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Experience in human resource related tasks (e.g., recruitment, hiring, payroll, etc.).
