    • Position Summary
    • Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position(s) available in Student Affairs - Operations and Planning. 
    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after July 1, 2026, and ending on or before August 31, 2026.  Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Assist with designing marketing materials (e.g., creative, printed, web, photo and social media).
      • Assist with creating content (e.g., videos, graphics) for communication, marketing, and promotion. 
      • Assist with tracking social media user traffic and evaluating effectiveness. 
      • Assist in the drafting, proposing, and creating multimedia projects.
      • Acts as a professional student role model and peer resource for the department’s student assistant team; supports customer service inquiries, provides front desk assistance, and helps guide office processes and protocols to improve workflow for students and staff. 
      • Helps maintain student project flow by offering reminders, check-ins, and sharing updates from the Strategic Operations Specialist. 
      • Support student-to-student schedule coordination for changes. 
      • Promote a positive and collaborative team environment. 
      • Act as a liaison between the student assistant team and professional staff. 
      • Contribute ideas for student-focused marketing and communications projects for review and approval. 
      • Help onboard new student assistants with established workflows and expectations
      • General clerical support (e.g., greet guests, answer phones, etc.) 
      • Assist with events and promotional activities. 
      • Perform all other duties or projects as assigned.

       

    • Qualifications
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Demonstrates knowledge and skills in utilizing social media programs, including Instagram/Facebook/Hootsuite/Campsite.
      • Demonstrates copywriting, proofreading and editing skills.
      • Demonstrates creative media, photography and videography, production experience.
      • Demonstrates the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
      • Demonstrates experience in design projects and working collaboratively with a team.
      • Demonstrates experience leading a group of students.
      • At least 1 year of experience in marketing and communications preferred.
      • At least 1 year of experience with Student Affairs or comparable student support services.
      • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and photo/video creation editing software (or other design programs).

      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units. 
    • Salary Range
    • $18.00 per hour.
