The Watson College of Education (WCOE), California State University San Bernardino invites applications for the position of Department Chair for one of its largest and most comprehensive academic departments on campus. The department includes eight programs serving a highly diverse student body and partnering extensively with regional P–12 schools and community organizations. The Department Chair provides collaborative, equity-centered leadership within a shared governance environment and is responsible for advancing academic excellence, accreditation compliance, faculty development, student success, strategic planning, enrollment management, resource stewardship, and community engagement. The Chair reports to the Dean of the WCOE College and works closely with program coordinators, faculty, staff, district partners, university leadership, and University Advancement. This is a 12-month administrative appointment with assigned time consistent with CSU policy and requires five days a week campus presence. The successful candidate must be eligible for appointment with tenure at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.

CSUSB Geology Teaching Associates (TAs) may be responsible for one or more GEOL 1000L Introductory Geology Laboratory sections, or may support a faculty member in an upper division geology class. TAs teaching GEOL 1000L are solely responsible for their assigned section(s), including being present in person for all class meetings during the semester, being available for meetings with the laboratory coordinator and other teaching assistants, maintaining the shared lab space including cleaning up after assigned lab sections, assessing student work, and meeting with students outside of class during regularly scheduled office hours. TAs supporting an upper division geology class will work with the faculty member teaching the class to determine the TA responsibilities.

The Department of Biology at California State University, San Bernardino is seeking part-time lecturer applications from a diverse group of qualified individuals for both our San Bernardino Campus (SBC) as well as our Palm Desert Campus (PDC). Candidates for this position should possess good organizational and communication skills with a drive to enhance student success. This position will involve teaching laboratory, discussion, and/or lecture sections in any of our subject areas: General Biology, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Organismal Biology, Ecology and Population Biology, or specialized topics in the discipline. Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree, or specialized certification for lecture and/or activity classes, in the field of Biology or a related discipline. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. Preference will be given to those with experience teaching in the appropriate field and in fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive learning environment. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary. Staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term. We recommend submitting your application at least 4 months before the beginning of an academic term to be considered for available positions. Workload can be as little as one course up to a maximum of 15 WTU.

Executive Director (SMSU) San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
The Executive Director of the Santos Manuel Student Union (SMSU), a 501 c3 auxiliary organization of CSU San Bernardino, provides leadership, management, direction, and financial oversight and serves as the senior executive accountable for strategic direction, fiscal stewardship, policy implementation, risk management, and effective administration to all areas of the SMSU including all personnel, year-round programming, facilities & operations, administrative support services, diversity & belonging-focused affinity centers, and the Recreation & Wellness Department (RecWell). Together, these areas serve more than 16,000 CSUSB students through programs, services, facilities, employment opportunities and student engagement experiences. The Executive Director also provides oversight of staffing and operations to the Rancho Mirage Student Center (RMSC) located on CSUSB’s Palm Desert Campus. The RMSC offers student engagement programming, similar to that of the SMSU, to the 2,000+ students who attend the PDC. The areas under the purview of the SMSU Executive Director employ approximately 40 managers & professional staff members and 250+ student employees. As part of the university’s commitment to shared governance, the Executive Director also works directly with and in support of the SMSU Board of Directors. The Executive Director supports informed Board governance by preparing recommendations, timely reports, and decision materials, and by implementing Board-approved priorities in coordination with SMSU management/staff and university leadership.
