Project Impact is an African American Outreach program that aims to recruit African Americans (especially African American males) into the teaching and education field. Project Impact aims at increasing the African American teacher pool in the Inland Empire through intentional outreach and recruitment towards the teaching profession. With a special focus on African American males, CSUSB College of Education will recruit and train African American teachers who are highly skilled, collaborative, inclusive, and who commit to work as restorative agents for educational equity and social justice. Career Transition and Resource Coordinator/WorkAbility IV (UEC) San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
Under the supervision of the WorkAbility IV (WA-IV) Lead Program Coordinator, the Career Transition & Resource Coordinator (CTRC) is responsible for planning, implementing, and carrying out employment preparation services for CSUSB students with disabilities who are clients of the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) and enrolled in WA-IV services on the San Bernardino Campus. The CTRC serves as a direct source of program information to include the dissemination of information on WA-IV’s social media platforms related to employment preparation. The position orients students/DOR clients to WA-IV program services, policies and procedures. The CTRC is responsible for researching local labor market trends that are consistent with students’/DOR clients’ Individual Plan for Employment (IPE). The incumbent works with participants to explore career options; facilitate on- and off-campus referrals; identify needs for supports; request Schedule A and LEAP documentation, reasonable accommodations, and assistive technologies; selection of courses to expand job opportunities; and timing and the coordination of internship opportunities. The CTRC develops and carries out vocational workshops and Job Club activities that include resume and cover letter development, completing applications, carrying out student services, and conducting mock interviews. The position reviews students’/DOR clients’ status on a monthly basis and documents all WA-IV student/DOR client interactions in the WA-IV database. The incumbent provides student/DOR client updates and monthly progress reports to DOR counselors. The CTRC assists the WA-IV Team in the provision of other program services to include, but not limited to: job development; internship and job placement, student services, and follow up. The position attends on- and off-campus, WA-IV related meetings. The CTRC performs other duties as assigned.
