The Department invites applications from teacher-scholars whose research and teaching are situated at the intersection of family studies and child development. The Department of Child, Adolescent, & Family Studies offers both theoretical and practical application courses, designed to help prepare graduates for direct service careers working with children of diverse backgrounds, to merge developmental knowledge with practical experience, and to prepare students for graduate training. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in family studies, and be able to teach courses in these areas, as well as in early childhood development, at both the undergraduate and master’s levels (with class sizes ranging from 30 to 200 students). Demonstrated excellence in university teaching is essential. Additionally, the successful candidate must have an active and viable research program in which they can supervise, mentor, and involve undergraduate and graduate students.
