The Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and Counseling at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications for the part-time lecture pool in Counseling. The Master of Science in Counseling program that houses three distinct concentrations: professional counseling,school counseling and dual. These prepare students for the PPS credential, LPCC licensure, or both, leading to diverse career opportunities in education and clinical settings. In addition, we offer undergraduate Minor in Counseling and Social Change, as this minor intends to offer an interdisciplinary approach that invites students to explore the ways social and political contexts shape people’s experiences, relationships, and the stories that shape us. We are seeking energetic and innovative candidates who have a background in counseling and/or school counseling with particular interest and practice in postmodern counseling with emphasis on equity, social justice, restorative justice, and culturally sustaining approaches. ASUA specialized student-support programs include Academic Advising, Coyotes Achieve, Peer Advising, Early Assessment Program (EAP), Student Mentoring Program (SMP), Coyote Experience, Yotie Oso, and the Student Success Studio (S3) at PDC, Academic Support programs include Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction (SI), Academic Testing, and the CSUSB Writing Centers (for graduate and undergraduates). The Associate Dean is a member of the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) and is expected to work closely with the Dean, Department Chairs, College Offices and staff as well as with various entities on- and off- campus and with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing to recommend and develop education policy. The Associate Dean will ensure policy implementation, champion excellence in teaching and learning, and promote innovation to enhance student experiences. The Associate Dean serves as a member of the Watson College of Education Dean's leadership team, and reports to the Dean. The Associate Dean is expected to assist with strategic planning and to implement initiatives related to the Mission and Strategic Plan of the College and the University.
