Tutor Coordinator/ICDFR (UEC) San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
Under the direction of ICDFR Directors, this position allows individuals the rare opportunity to expand their knowledge from the classroom and connect with the population they will serve in the San Bernardino County. The work is not only meaningful for staff, but also for the underprivileged youth in the program, as they get the opportunity to receive further educational assistance that would otherwise be unavailable given their circumstances. The K-12 Homeless Youth Students Deserve Success program connects CSUSB students to unhoused youth residing in San Bernardino. CSUSB Students are able integrate their understanding of individual differences, motivation, and subject content to provide academic support to students grades K-12. The Tutor Coordinator role will design and assign educational activities, monitor student progress on homework completion, and perform tutor responsibilities such as cleaning and organizing the classroom supplies. This position will engage and build relationships with students, parents and program personnel, help students develop teamwork and leadership skills, and provide academic guidance. The Tutor Coordinator must be able to diffuse verbal and emotional conflicts, provide emotional support, and enforce rules to provide an engaging learning environment.
Department of Sociology-Part-time Lecturer San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
One or more temporary, part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2024, and/or Spring Semester 2025. Lecturers may be needed for one or more of the following courses: Introduction to Sociology, Sociological Theory, Qualitative Analysis & Field Research, Social Psychology, Socialization, Sociology of Education, Social Inequality, Environmental Sociology, Sociology of Sport, Medical Sociology, Sociology of Work and Social Casework. Identifies and leads the development of an overall department assessment plan. Leads the department's strategic planning process in concert with the Division of Student Affairs and the University.

Marketing Coordination: The Marketing Coordinator collaborates closely with program and project managers to craft the organization's marketing strategy, guiding it from conceptualization to implementation. They assist in formulating budget proposals and securing funding for marketing endeavors. With a creative flair, they conceptualize marketing collateral such as flyers, social media posts, and digital communications, ensuring content aligns with audience expectations. By developing detailed audience profiles, they tailor targeted marketing campaigns to specific groups, effectively promoting events and enhancing the company's brand presence. Event Coordination: Coordinating all aspects of events such as venue selection, contract negotiation, and logistics management; developing comprehensive event plans, timelines, and budgets; promoting events through various channels and managing registration processes; serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and partners; collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless event execution; and conducting post-event evaluations to gather feedback and improve future events. Requires travel (estimated at 5-8 trips per year).
Business Counselor/CVWBC (UEC) San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus, San Bernardino - Palm Desert Campus
Provide CVWBC consulting, training, and information services in the region to pre-venture, start-up, small and medium size businesses. Maintain client database by preparing detailed written assessment and make recommendations for improvements. Keep abreast of business trends, techniques, and processes. Work collaboratively with peers and the business community to expand expertise. Community outreach responsibilities will include public presentations to key stakeholders and service on appropriate boards and committees related to economic development. Complete all forms and maintain client files as required by the SBA. Document information, assistance, and outcomes of sessions with clients related to consulting and training activities performed by the consultant. Provide Center with timely reports related to milestones and success stories of client’s economic outcomes. Individual must conduct own lead generation through creating partnerships with cities, chambers of commerce, business associations, etc to find clients.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications from a diverse group of qualified applicants for a new department of physics and astronomy chair to begin August 2024. This is a full time tenure track position with a half-time chair appointment. The ideal candidate will be an experienced faculty member with demonstrated leadership and administrative skills, an established record of scholarly research, and evidence of commitment to student success. The Chair is expected to provide leadership in shaping and facilitating the future of the department including faculty and staff development, faculty mentoring, strategic planning, and student recruitment and success initiatives. The Department Chair will serve in a leadership capacity in support of the mission of the College of Natural Sciences. They will provide academic and administrative leadership and facilitate the orderly conduct of the affairs of the Department and the College. Preference will be given to candidates with familiarity in navigating large public education systems, such as the CSU. The Department offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Physics, with minors in astronomy and applied physics, and is currently in the planning stages for an interdisciplinary M.S. degree in Materials Science, which is associated with the Center for Advanced Functional Materials(https://materials.csusb.edu). Preference will be given to candidates who are able to teach courses within the full range of undergraduate physics courses and graduate courses in support of the Master Program in material sciences. The successful candidate will join an intellectually stimulating and innovative academic environment that embraces diversity. The Kinesiology Department at California State University, San Bernardino is seeking part-time lecturer applications from a diverse group of qualified individuals for both our San Bernardino Campus (SBC) as well as our Palm Desert Campus (PDC). The department is seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in any of our three concentrations: Allied Health Professions, Exercise Science, and Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education. Subject areas may include the following: Biomechanics, motor development, motor learning, physical education, adapted physical education, sport and exercise physiology, sport and exercise psychology, sociology of sport, statistics in kinesiology, and other kinesiology related classes such as, but not limited to, activities classes. Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree, or specialized certification for activity classes, in a field of Kinesiology or related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary. Staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term. Lecturer-PT Pool Position Liberal Studies San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
The Liberal Studies Program at California State University San Bernardino is accepting applications on an on-going basis for our pool of part-time lecturers for upper and lower division Liberal Studies courses that address introduction, resources, portfolio development, and assessment of students preparing to pursue the multiple subjects teaching credential. The Liberal Studies program is housed under the College of Arts and Letters and offers a rich Liberal Arts & Liberal Studies educational experience through selected courses from a wide range of academic disciplines. The major consists of a common core and a choice of several tracks designed to meet diverse student interests and needs not only for teaching in schools, but also for leadership in government, non-profit organizations, and business, and for graduate education in law, counseling, social work and services, public affairs and administration, and educational leadership. The Liberal Studies option provides excellent preparation for Elementary teaching while the Liberal Arts option provides well-rounded preparation for post-baccalaureate degrees and for employment in business, non-profit, and government organizations.
