Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, the Student Assistant will assist in maintaining much of the production room audio equipment. The Student Assistant assists in the recording, editing, production and uploading of promotional, public service and commercial messages for Coyote Radio.

The student will also work closely with the staff of Coyote Radio & Advertising in servicing and maintaining client relations. This individual is required to hold regularly scheduled office hours in the radio station, check messages, return emails or other forms of correspondence, communicated with students and other staff members.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Minimum Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.

Required Qualifications:

  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic experience in the Adobe Audition audio recording software.
  • Basic experience in Adobe Audition software and an interest in digital recording and editing skills.
  • Basic experience working with audio mixers, microphones, and amplifiers.
  • Good people skills; work well with others, have some basic teaching ability and be able to assist students in learning basic digital audio recording skills.
  • Basic Copy/script writing skills and the ability to assist with voice-overs is a plus.


Compensation and Benefits:

Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.50 per hour.

The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.
