Working independently under general direction, the Provost Office and Academic Affairs Support position provides administrative and operational support to the Provost’s Office and the Academic Affairs division. The role supports daily office operations, including supervision of student employees, maintenance of office systems and records, and assistance with time-sensitive priorities and process improvement efforts. The position also serves as a divisional support resource, providing temporary administrative assistance to colleges and departments during vacancies, planned absences, staffing transitions, peak workload periods, and division-wide initiatives. In doing so, it helps ensure continuity of operations across Academic Affairs. The role also coordinates administrative and logistical support for meetings, events, and programs sponsored by the Provost’s Office, including the Emeritus and Retired Faculty and Staff Association Hall of Honor nomination process and recognition event. The Provost serves as the University’s Chief Academic Officer and reports to the President. Payroll Technician I (Temporary) East Bay
Under close supervision, the Payroll Technician I performs routine payroll and personnel transactions for all California State University employees. Incumbents process a full range of payroll and personnel actions, including appointments, changes in status, leaves of absence, and separations, in accordance with established CSU policies and procedures. The Payroll Technician I applies payroll and personnel transaction rules and regulations consistent with CSU policies and guidelines, state and federal laws, education codes, and applicable collective bargaining agreements. The incumbent validates reported work hours, leave usage, accruals, and entitlements, and audits payroll and related reports to ensure accuracy. The position identifies discrepancies, errors, or other payroll-related issues and performs appropriate corrective actions in accordance with established guidelines. The Payroll Technician I responds promptly, effectively, and professionally to requests for payroll-related information and assistance from campus departments, employees, and other stakeholders. The position prepares and codes payroll and personnel transactions and enters data into Oracle/PeopleSoft and the State’s Payroll Information Management System. The incumbent verifies and audits warrant reports prior to the release of payments. In addition, the Payroll Technician I processes third-party payroll actions involving employee pay, including judgments, levies, bankruptcies, and child support wage garnishments. The position also provides general clerical and administrative support to the Payroll Office, including filing and retrieving payroll records, answering phones, completing miscellaneous payroll forms (including employment verifications), and providing general reception support.

In this capacity, the AVP acts as a vital link between the University and community leaders, identifying and supporting emerging workforce needs within the East Bay region of California and the broader global environment. The combined leadership of University Extension and International Programs reflects their shared emphasis on market-responsive programming, global engagement, and externally facing partnerships that expand access to education beyond the traditional state-supported curriculum. The AVP represents University Extension in developing partnerships with regional and international entities and initiatives and coordinates the development and evaluation of instructional program offerings and student support systems. Physician - Primary Care (10/12 Pay Plan) East Bay
The Physician is an integral part of the Student Health & Counseling Services (SHCS). The Physician participates in the daily operational and practical needs of SHCS, primarily performs medical diagnostic and treatment activities, and participates in practitioner peer review staff educational and administrative meetings as needed. The incumbent will also assist SHCS in its on-going preparation for re-accreditation and HIPAA compliance as well as provide health education and participate in teaching activities. The incumbent will have regular contact with blood, blood products and bodily fluids as well as communicable diseases. There may also be some contact with physical and chemical hazardous materials, such as liquid nitrogen, TCA, etc. Routine exposure to needles and sharp objects is to be expected. The incumbent must be able to respond to on-campus medical emergencies which may require walking outdoors several blocks carrying medical equipment or driving a minivan. This position may require occasional coverage at CSU East Bay’s Concord campus. The incumbent must be willing to comply with local and state laws governing CSU practices, be able to perform within the full spectrum of their specialty and comply with rules and regulations presented within their respective department(s).
