The Department of Child Development at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications from a diverse group of qualified applicants for a full-time, Lecturer position in Child and Adolescent Development to be located at the University’s satellite campus in Palm Desert. The position begins August 2024. The Department is seeking applicants who have expertise in early childhood (birth to age 8) but who can also teach courses in a variety of general developmental areas that include early childhood but extend into middle childhood, adolescence, and the overall field of child and adolescent development. Area of concentration within early childhood is open, although at least some training in special education is preferred. The Dean of Graduate Studies leads, manages, and coordinates all Graduate Studies resources (fiscal, personnel, facilities, technological, and information resources) necessary to provide high-quality services. This position provides leadership to Graduate Studies’ staff members in a team-oriented environment, providing thoughtful mentoring, professional development, and advocacy. Serve as a member of the Graduate Studies Council and as a lead of the Graduate Coordinators’ meetings.

Key responsibilities in this pivotal role will include clinical counseling, facilitating psychoeducation, carrying out diagnoses and assessments, managing data, and meticulously documenting all related procedures. A CSP delivers comprehensive case management support, playing a crucial role in helping individuals navigate through complex psychosocial issues. This position’s expertise will be fundamental in creating personalized treatment plans and closely monitoring implementation and success. In addition to client-facing duties, the CSP will also act as the frontline lead for social and behavioral science interns hailing from multiple university partners. This mentoring role will involve guiding interns through their placements, sharing knowledge and experience, and fostering interns professional growth; as well as clear communication regarding day-to-day matters. The successful candidate will be an empathetic professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible and make informed, timely decisions in a dynamic environment. Under the general supervision of the Lead Physician and the direction of the Director of the Student Health Center, the Physician performs medical diagnostic and treatment and preventative health care and education to students in an ambulatory care setting. The Physician works collaboratively with all the Student Health Center staff and actively participates in health education activities, training of health-related staff, and development of policies, protocols and procedures. Additional duties include participation in Student Health Center and campus wide committees when assigned.
