The Department of Psychology at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications from tenured faculty for the position of Department Chair at the Associate or Full Professor rank beginning August 17, 2023. The ideal candidate will be an experienced faculty member with demonstrated leadership and administrative skills, an established record of scholarly research and evidence of excellence in teaching. The Chair is expected to provide leadership in facilitating long-term planning for professional involvement and development of the faculty and the Department, and mentor faculty effectively in meeting their responsibilities in scholarship, teaching, and service. The Department of Psychology is in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and offers a B.A. in General Psychology with two concentrations - Biological Psychology and Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Additionally, the department offers an M.A. program in Psychological Science, as well as M.S. programs in Clinical/Counseling and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. The Department has 22 full-time tenure track faculty members, four full-time lecturers and approximately 1800 undergraduate majors and 100 graduate majors.

Department of Teacher Education and Foundations (TEF) - Early Childhood Reading/Literacy Position (Open Rank) San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
Candidates must have knowledge, skills and interest in early childhood reading/literacy education, teaching, research, and professional development. Candidates are expected to teach early childhood reading/literacy education courses for teacher candidates, early childhood certificate courses, and graduate students. Candidates are expected to meet the requirements for excellence in teaching, active scholarly and professional work, and service to the University and community. The successful candidate is expected to: • Design and teach early childhood literacy/reading education courses at the credential, certificate, and graduate levels that emphasize high impact instructional strategies and current teaching and learning theories in early childhood reading/literacy education. • Implement fun, engaging, and research-based reading/literacy activities that support and enhance children’s cognitive development, creativity, language skills, and problem-solving skills. • Work with credential, credential, undergraduate, and graduate students • Participate in committee assignments at the department, college, and university levels. • Supervise student teachers. • Engage in research/publication and/or creative activities. • Advise and mentor credential and graduate students. • Participate in student recruitment to the credential and graduate programs. Qualified candidates must demonstrate active involvement and excellence in teaching and mentoring/supervising a diverse population of students, working collaboratively and productively with faculty, staff, and administrators within and across programs, departments, and colleges at the university. Candidates are also expected to be actively engaged with the community (e.g., schools and school districts, county office of education, professional organizations, etc.).
Department of Kinesiology - Lecturer AY San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
The Kinesiology Department at California State University, San Bernardino is seeking part-time lecturer applications from a diverse group of qualified individuals for both our San Bernardino Campus (SBC) as well as our Palm Desert Campus (PDC). The department is seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in any of our three concentrations: Allied Health Professions, Exercise Science, and Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education. Subject areas may include the following: Biomechanics, motor development, motor learning, physical education, adapted physical education, sport and exercise physiology, sport and exercise psychology, sociology of sport, statistics in kinesiology, and other kinesiology related classes such as, but not limited to, activities classes. Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree, or specialized certification for activity classes, in a field of Kinesiology or related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary. Staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term. We recommend submitting your application at least 4 months before the beginning of an academic term to be considered for available positions.

Assistant Professor of Japanese Language and Asian Studies San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
The Department of World Languages and Literatures at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Japanese Language and Asian Studies, which will begin in August of 2023. This is a full-time, tenure-track position. In addition to expertise in Japanese language, literature, and culture; an additional specialization in linguistics and the ability to teach Korean or Chinese language, literature, and culture are also desirable. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching two general education courses in English (JAPN 2900 “Japanese Literature in English” and JAPN 3900 “Voices and Visions from the World of Japanese Anime and Manga”) and a variety of courses in Japanese. In addition, the faculty member may teach Japanese linguistics. They will participate in curriculum development, work collaboratively with faculty in other departments, organize cultural activities, maintain an active research agenda, and provide service to the department, college, and university. Department of Health Science & Human Ecology Tenure Track Assistant Professor San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus

Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity in the Department of Information Decision Sciences San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
The IDS Department seeks a full-time assistant professor to join a growing and dynamic faculty team. CSUSB’s cutting edge Cybersecurity program prepares students to solve the cybersecurity issues and concerns faced today in many corporate and government environments. This program’s foundation consists of skills required to succeed with a combination of technical skills, policy, teamwork, ethics, and professionalism. In 2022, the Cyber program renewed the NSA designation of Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). Since receiving the CAE-CD designation, the program has secured a portfolio of $38m in grants and scholarships focused on cyber workforce. For qualifications, The position of assistant professor, tenure-track would begin Fall 2023. Qualifications for this position include: (1) An earned doctorate in Cybersecurity or, a closely-related discipline (ABD may be considered, Ph.D. required by Aug 2023), (2) Demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in teaching, research, and service to the university and to the profession, (3) Strong commitment to quality of student learning and program excellence, (4) Ability to obtain and conduct federally funded research that requires a top secret security clearance is preferred.

The Liberal Studies Program at California State University San Bernardino is accepting applications on an on-going basis for our pool of part-time lecturers for upper and lower division Liberal Studies courses that address introduction, resources, portfolio development, and assessment of students preparing to pursue the multiple subjects teaching credential. The Liberal Studies program is housed under the College of Arts and Letters and offers a rich Liberal Arts & Liberal Studies educational experience through selected courses from a wide range of academic disciplines.
