The Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and Counseling at California State University, San Bernardino invites applications for one tenure-track, open rank professor position in Counseling beginning August 2024. The Counseling program is a master's degree program that houses two distinct concentrations: professional counseling and school counseling. The professional counseling concentration prepares students to become Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC), as regulated by The California Board of Behavioral Sciences, while the school counseling concentration prepares students for a California Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPS), as granted by the California Teaching Commission. We offer a dual track option as well, where students are prepared for LPCC & PPS qualifications concurrently. In both tracks, students are trained from a social constructionist narrative framework in practice oriented counseling courses. We also offer a minor in Counseling and Social Change, as this minor intends to offer an interdisciplinary approach that invites students to explore the ways social and political contexts shape people’s experiences, relationships, and the stories that shape us. We are seeking energetic and innovative candidates who have a background in counseling and/or school counseling with particular interest and practice in postmodern counseling with emphasis on equity, social justice, restorative justice, and culturally sustaining approaches. School of Social Work, Full Time Lecturer - PDC Coordinator of Field Education San Bernardino - Palm Desert Campus
The Field Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation and administration of the general policies of the Palm Desert Field Education Program within the School of Social Work including student recruitment, field instruction and support, performance evaluation, internship placement, tracking and statistical analysis, and retention support. The Field Coordinator will work directly with the Director of Field to manage, train, and support Faculty Field Liaisons. The Field Coordinator will work with the School’s Director of Field education and agency representatives to develop field placements and learning experiences for Palm Desert students that meet School of Social Work requirements and execute affiliation agreements. The Field Coordinator will assist with the development and implementation of on-campus and online training for field instructors and on-campus Field Orientations. The Field Coordinator will provide representation of the School of Social Work at local, regional, state and national meetings.
Scholarly Communications Librarian – Senior Assistant Librarian San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
Reporting to the Dean of the CSUSB Libraries, the Scholarly Communication (SC) Librarian will act as the library’s leading resource on a range of scholarly communication issues, including open access, copyright and fair use, authors’ rights, data management, and open educational resources. The person in this position will manage CSUSB ScholarWorks, our institutional repository, promote its use on campus, and advocate for the role of the IR in supporting sustainable scholarly communication. In collaboration with library and campus stakeholders, the SC Librarian will support student and faculty author-researchers through education and information about scholarly publishing issues. The SC Librarian will also work with instructors to locate, develop, and use OERs, thus supporting students by reducing course material costs.

Area of concentration is open, although expertise in substance abuse, PTSD/trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, aging, interpersonal relationships/social connection, discrimination/mental-health disparities, evidence-based treatments for mental-health disorders, AI/machine-learning applications to mental health research, clinical health psychology and/or mental health outcomes in neurologic/medical populations would complement our department's research focus. The department is seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in any of our three concentrations: Allied Health Professions, Exercise Science, and Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education. Subject areas may include the following: Biomechanics, motor development, motor learning, physical education, adapted physical education, sport and exercise physiology, sport and exercise psychology, sociology of sport, statistics in kinesiology, and other kinesiology related classes such as, but not limited to, activities classes. Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree, or specialized certification for activity classes, in a field of Kinesiology or related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary. The Health Services Administration Program is designed to prepare our diverse student body for management roles in health care settings to enhance the quality and innovation in the delivery of health care services for all individuals. The Department serves approximately 800 students majoring in 4 undergraduate programs (environmental health science, health services administration, nutritional science and dietetics, and public health) and 3 graduate programs (Master of Public Health, Master of Science in Health Service Administration, and Master of Science in Nutritional Science). The newly hired faculty member would join a well-established department of 14 tenure-track and over 20 adjunct faculty members.
