The Watson College of Education (WCOE), California State University San Bernardino invites applications for the position of Department Chair for one of its largest and most comprehensive academic departments on campus. The department includes eight programs serving a highly diverse student body and partnering extensively with regional P–12 schools and community organizations. The Department Chair provides collaborative, equity-centered leadership within a shared governance environment and is responsible for advancing academic excellence, accreditation compliance, faculty development, student success, strategic planning, enrollment management, resource stewardship, and community engagement. The Chair reports to the Dean of the WCOE College and works closely with program coordinators, faculty, staff, district partners, university leadership, and University Advancement. This is a 12-month administrative appointment with assigned time consistent with CSU policy and requires five days a week campus presence. The successful candidate must be eligible for appointment with tenure at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.

The Adina Lei Savin and W. Benson Harer Visiting Scholar in Egyptology, History Department Visiting Faculty San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
The Department of History at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) invites applications for the Adina Lei Savin and W Benson Harer Visiting Scholar in Egyptology. A successful candidate will be a member of the CSUSB community for one semester, either Fall 2026 (mid Aug- mid Dec) or Spring 2027 (mid Jan – late May). This position is designed for scholars taking a semester sabbatical from a home institution or as a postdoc for an up-and-coming scholar. The applicant should specialize in Ancient Egyptian History, Archaeology, Religion, Society, or Art anytime between the Predynastic to the Roman Periods. The successful candidate will receive housing, a partial meal plan, $2,500 towards relocation expenses, and a $27,000 stipend. CSUSB hosts the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art (RAFFMA), which includes an important collection of approximately 500 artifacts dating from the Predynastic Period to the Coptic Period. Nutrition Counseling Graduate Student Coordinators are responsible for coordinating client intake, scheduling and management for the Spring 2025 Nutrition Assessment and Education Program. This includes maintaining counseling spaces, maintaining counseling materials and handouts, creating advertisements and communicating with potential clients about eligibility and scheduling, coordinating undergraduate and graduate student counselors. Graduate Student Coordinators are also responsible for ensuring that all client recommendations are approved by the Faculty Supervisor. Graduate Student Coordinators will also have the opportunity to see clients directly and may have opportunity to support additional program activities like group wellness challenges and cooking activities.

The Liberal Studies Program at California State University San Bernardino is accepting applications on an on-going basis for our pool of part-time lecturers for upper and lower division Liberal Studies courses that address introduction, resources, portfolio development, and assessment of students preparing to pursue the multiple subjects teaching credential. The Liberal Studies program is housed under the College of Arts and Letters and offers a rich Liberal Arts & Liberal Studies educational experience through selected courses from a wide range of academic disciplines. The major consists of a common core and a choice of several tracks designed to meet diverse student interests and needs not only for teaching in schools, but also for leadership in government, non-profit organizations, and business, and for graduate education in law, counseling, social work and services, public affairs and administration, and educational leadership. The Liberal Studies option provides excellent preparation for Elementary teaching while the Liberal Arts option provides well-rounded preparation for post-baccalaureate degrees and for employment in business, non-profit, and government organizations.

The TAs are the instructor of record for their sections of COMM 1006 Oral Communication, and as such are responsible for all aspects of the preparation of the course.

The CSUSB School of Social Work seeks a graduate assistant who has strong research skills focusing on examining food insecurity in the Coachella Valley area, leveraging community-based partnerships to do so. In particular, this position will work directly with community partners to implement a cross-sectional survey and analyze survey data to further understand the nature of food insecurity in the Coachella Valley. The graduate assistant will play an active role on project teams with the University and community partners. Candidates must be able to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines, be well versed in basic research and evaluation strategies, methodologies and analytic approaches, have quality written and oral communication skills, and be able to manage positive relationships with community partners. This position provides the opportunity for conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications. The position requires approximately 6 hours per week through Summer 2025.
