Psychology Part-Time Lecturer Pool San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
The Department of Psychology seeks applicants for its part-time lecturer pool. We are seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in the following subject areas: general psychology, biological psychology/neuroscience, clinical psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, and statistics. Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree in a field relevant to the curriculum of the Department of Psychology. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. A Ph.D. or extensive professional experience is desirable for teaching upper-division courses (300- or 400-level) and required for 500-level graduate courses. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment. Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary. Staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term. We recommend submitting your application at least 4 months before the beginning of an academic term to be considered for available positions.

Under the work direction of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses or other similar licensed professionals and general direction of the Executive Director, the incumbent performs various clinical and medical support functions. The incumbent also performs a variety of standard clinical assistance tasks, as well as administrative and clerical duties in the Student Health Center. The incumbent may also work occasionally on the Palm Desert Campus, as needed. This position also assists and supports in maintaining student records, immigration documentation by supporting Designated School Official (DSO) role, recruitment and enrollment activities for self-support programs.

This position serves as the primary administrative support for the Dean’s office. Day-to-day work is performed independently under general supervision with work lead direction provided by Dean’s Executive Administrative Assistant.
