University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We’re responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Position Summary
Temporary, Exempt, Full Time, Benefited position through 12/31/2026 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).
Salary: $6,250.00-$7,500.00 per month.
Location: Riverside County and San Bernardino County Offices - with additional onsite assistance required as needed for training and conferences within the two counties.

Work Schedule
Exempt. 40+ hours per week. Typically, Monday-Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Some nights and weekends may be required.

|
Typical Activities
Under minimal supervision of the IESBDC Director the Case Lead- Small Business Consultant will work independently to:
Strategic Business Assessment
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of client businesses across the following core
areas:
- Regulatory compliance (local, state, federal requirements).
- Financial health, including P&L, cash flow, and capital strategy.
- Marketing and customer acquisition strategy.
- Operational readiness and scalability.
- Develop clear diagnostic findings and prioritized recommendations.
Strategic Roadmap Development
- Synthesize assessment findings into a structured Strategic Roadmap.
- Define measurable goals, timelines, and assigned responsibilities.
- Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Monitor progress and adjust strategy as needed.
Case Leadership & Consultant Oversight
- Serve as Case Lead for assigned client engagements.
- Define scopes of work and assign consulting resources.
- Coordinate and oversee part-time consultants.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in Neoserra CRM.
- Monitor consultant timekeeping and scope alignment.
- Maintain complete and compliant client files in accordance with SBA guidelines.
Direct Client Advising
- Provide one-on-one consulting to entrepreneurs and small business owners.
- Build trust and secure buy-in for strategic initiatives.
- Facilitate structured follow-up meetings.
- Document milestones, economic outcomes, and impact metrics.
Training & Program Support
- Assist in developing and delivering workshops and training programs.
- Present business topics to diverse audiences.
- Contribute to performance reporting and program evaluation.
- Support achievement of annual center performance goals.
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Represent IESBDC at community and economic development events.
- Build relationships with regional partners, lenders, and business organizations.
- Conduct outreach to attract new clients.
- Travel within the Inland Empire region as required.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent business ownership/management expereince (minimum four years).
- Experience:
- Advising small businesses or leading business operations.
- Other:

Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with Small Business Development Center programs.

Experience managing consulting teams or professional service engagements.

Familiarity with Neoserra CRM.

Established relationships within the Inland Empire business community.
