JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking part-time lecturers to teach ECTS 5080/6080: Organization and Structure of Career and Technical Programs. This course provides students with knowledge and skills for effectively organizing and managing Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Key topics include facility planning, budget management, and understanding funding sources—critical components for leaders of CTE programs in educational settings. As an instructor, you will help students navigate the intricacies of planning, managing, and maintaining CTE programs in real-world educational and technical environments. The course will be delivered fully online, and the instructor must create an engaging and effective virtual learning experience.

TYPICAL ACTIVITIES

  • Teach students the fundamentals of organizing and managing CTE programs.
  • Provide practical applications for facility planning, understanding funding sources, and other essential areas of program management.
  • Commit to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
  • Work effectively with students, staff, and faculty across various disciplines.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or higher in Career and Technical Education (CTE) or a related field.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in hand by the time of appointment (Master's degree or higher).
  • Experience teaching in an online environment.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Terminal degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) in Career and Technical Education or a related field.
  • Experience with educational program management and budget planning.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity, including publication and innovation in relevant fields.
  • Graduate-level teaching and leadership experience in academic programs.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with CSUSB. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may result in the withdrawal of the offer of employment. The Department of Educational Leadership and Technology at CSUSB offers a wide range of programs that prepare educators and leaders for successful careers in schools, higher education, and industry. The Career and Technical Education (CTE) program specifically equips future educators and administrators with the skills needed to lead and manage technical education programs. Our courses provide a solid foundation in leadership, planning, and organizational management.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Lecturer A                           (Range 2) - $5,507 – $6,677

Lecturer B                           (Range 3) - $6,221 – $13,224

Lecturer C                           (Range 4) - $6,825 – $14,523

Lecturer D                           (Range 5) - $8,593 – $15,211
