JOB SUMMARY
Art and Design Instructional Student Assistant for ART 1200 – Creativity, Imagination, and the Consciousness and ART 2400 – Introduction to Chicanx Art
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Instructional Student Assistant will:
- Work with Professor Diego Robles, Art & Design, to give students additional attention (not instruction).
- Reinforce due dates, the location of assignments and handouts on CANVAS, and assist students with making appointments to meet with professor.
- Help professor with record keeping, like attendance and noticing who participates in class discussion, as well as reinforce university etiquette and culture of learning & exploration.
- Assist professor in noticing and contacting students who miss class and fail to turn in assignments.
- Encourage students to turn in assignments and ask the professor questions about curriculum, assignments, and class content.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate/graduate student at CSUSB
- Must maintain academic eligibility throughout employment period (3.0 GPA or higher)
- Must be able to work cooperatively with faculty, staff and other students
Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the university.

The Department of Art and Design is housed entirely in its own Visual Arts Center. We have outstanding and comprehensive facilities, some of the best in the 23-campus CSU system.
Here, you will find dedicated painting and drawing studios; classrooms for graphic design, web-design, UX/UI design (user-experience/user-interface), virtual reality, imaging, illustration and animation resources; labs and darkrooms for traditional chemical photography alongside well-equipped digital photography lab and a lighting studio; a large printmaking studio that supports traditional and digital techniques; sculpture studios with welding rooms, a foundry area and forge; hot, warm and cold glass making areas; a massive ceramics area and outdoor kiln yard; comprehensive wood workshops; a metal shop; digital fabrication machinery and an electronic Interaction Lab, plus multiple specialist classrooms.
