Job Summary:

Summer Bridge is looking for a mature, responsible, creative, and enthusiastic CSUSB student to assist us with documenting the 2026 EOP Summer Bridge experience. The EOP Media Student Assistant works under the lead direction of the EOP Summer Bridge Team and will be required to participate in training prior to the program start date.

Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision, duties include but not limited to:
• Document key Summer Bridge (SB) activities via photography and video
• Create a categorized archive of all recorded media
• Edit photos and videos and assist with any post production of said media
• Assist with the collection of media for use in the final SB Closing Celebration video
• Create marketing materials as needed such as flyers or other graphics
• Provide support and/or assistance to EOP Summer Bridge Staff and program participants
• Assist the SB participants with creative aspects of their final Summer Bridge project
• Promote teamwork and community amongst students
• Encourage and ensure students are fully participating in all activities (curricular and co-curricular)
• Assist in addressing student inquiries and/or providing appropriate referrals.
• Maintain a positive learning environment and well-being of EOP Summer Bridge student participants
• Guide students to ensure compliance of University and Summer Bridge Policies
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times
• Serve as a role-model to program participants
• Provide guidance, support, and accurate information to student participants
• Report to the EOP Summer Bridge Coordinator concerns or student/instructor needs as they arise
• Perform other duties as assigned related to the mission and goals of Summer Bridge

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.

Required Qualifications:

  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card

Preferred Qualifications:

• Creative expression via various media outlet types
• Knowledgeable of equipment (Cameras, lenses, flashes, filters, tripods)
• Familiar with image & video editing software
• Experience as a student leader including campus extracurricular activities, community organizing, and/or student employment
• Demonstrate ability to problem solve, communicate effectively and be flexible
• Ability to establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with student participants and program staff
• Be a team player, mature, and reliable
• Experience working in an educational setting or with student groups of diverse populations
• Must be in good standing with the University and the Educational Opportunity Program
• Grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher preferred
• Eligible to work in the United States

Compensation and Benefits:

Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.90 per hour.

The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.

Position Information:

Work status: Part-Time, Temporary, Seasonal

Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm).

Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).

Conditions of Employment

Background Check
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) may be required for student employment purposes. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.  Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check when required may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Driver’s License Check
Possession of a valid Driver's License may be required.  Employees in this position will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Government Employer Pull Notice Program which confirms possession of a valid driver's license and reflects driving record.
