This invitation is for candidates internal to the Department of Music at CSUSB only, with a time base of 0.75 for the chair position. The ideal candidate will be an experienced faculty member with demonstrated leadership and administrative skills, an established record of scholarly research or creative activity, and evidence of commitment to student success. The Department Chair will serve in a leadership capacity in support of the College of Arts & Letters’ mission and institutional values. They will provide academic and administrative leadership and facilitate the orderly conduct of the affairs of the Department and the College.

The director will play an integral role in working with the associate vice president for philanthropic giving and other senior leadership members in support of strategic planning, operations and implementation of the community engagement and fundraising programs for the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus (PDC). The director will collaborate with CSUSB vice presidents, deans, key volunteers, the director of alumni relations and the directors of philanthropy on the implementation of strategies and identification and cultivation of relationships; all to increase opportunities for partnerships while engaging alumni, corporations, community members and government officials. In addition, the director’s efforts will focus on discovering new philanthropic avenues in support of PDC fundraising initiatives.

Accountant (Accountant I), General Accounting Department San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
The Auxiliary Accountant I is essential in the oversight of Auxiliaries’ resources, guiding campus departments on the proper use of funds, and maintaining financial integrity through sound accounting practices.  This position is the primary contact person for the campus departments on Auxiliaries’ general ledger transactions. This position plays a key role in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process. Work assignments typically include some or all of the following: prepare audit schedules and PBCs; reconcile reports and financial data with financial statements on file; correct and reconcile account balances to external data; prepare journal entries; resolve problems associated with incorrect entries, deviations from established procedures, and other inconsistencies with accounting principles; prepare routine financial reports and statements; and provide input to the documentation and maintenance of business processes, standards and procedures.

Philanthropic Grant Specialist (Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Exempt I), Philanthropic Giving San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR), the Philanthropic Grant Specialist will act as a pre- and post-award liaison for principal investigators/project directors (PI/PD), requiring close collaboration with campus and auxiliary personnel. The Philanthropic Grant Specialist will independently perform timely, compliant pre and post-award development and administration on an assigned workload of multiple moderately complex letters of intent, memorandums of understanding, contracts, gift, grant, and sponsorship proposals. This position will require knowledge of foundational obligations and institutional policies and will hold direct responsibility and accountability for work results.

Candidates must have knowledge, skills and interest in early childhood reading/literacy education, teaching, research, and professional development. Candidates are expected to teach early childhood reading/literacy education courses for teacher candidates, early childhood certificate courses, and graduate students. Candidates are expected to meet the requirements for excellence in teaching, active scholarly and professional work, and service to the University and community.
