The Department of Art & Design, as part of the College of Arts & Letters at CSUSB, offers bachelor's degrees in art history, design, studio art, and art education, plus a graduate program offering an MA in Art and an MFA in Studio Art. The department serves approximately 500-600 students in its majors per year, plus other students from across the campus. The core approach taken to teaching across all the areas of the department focuses on visual and material literacy, as well as critical and discursive analysis of art, design, and other cultural productions. Students that we serve gain a broad base of skills in the areas of art and design making, as well as research, critical thinking, problem-solving, and writing. Through our programs, we strongly encourage an open approach to understanding how all aspects of art, design, and cultural production contribute to imperatives of diversity and community engagement. Department of Teacher Education and Foundations - Department Chair (12-Month) San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
The Watson College of Education (WCOE), California State University San Bernardino invites applications for the position of Department Chair for one of its largest and most comprehensive academic departments on campus. The department includes eight programs serving a highly diverse student body and partnering extensively with regional P–12 schools and community organizations. The Department Chair provides collaborative, equity-centered leadership within a shared governance environment and is responsible for advancing academic excellence, accreditation compliance, faculty development, student success, strategic planning, enrollment management, resource stewardship, and community engagement. The Chair reports to the Dean of the WCOE College and works closely with program coordinators, faculty, staff, district partners, university leadership, and University Advancement. This is a 12-month administrative appointment with assigned time consistent with CSU policy and requires five days a week campus presence. The successful candidate must be eligible for appointment with tenure at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.

Under immediate supervision, this position serves as a Graduate Student Assistant on the Technology Infrastructure for Data Exploration (TIDE) project (https://tide.sdsu.edu/), a multi-campus initiative funded by the National Science Foundation to create the first computational core facility focused on supporting faculty research within the California State University (CSU) system. Designed to advance machine learning and AI research, TIDE features a high-performance computing architecture built on GPUs, powerful processors, and ample storage. The Graduate Assistant will support facilitation and outreach efforts, which may include conducting HPC and AI research (e.g., reading papers, testing models, and building tools), maintaining websites and documentation, responding to support requests, and enabling use of TIDE by developing software containers, data workflow scripts, and CI/CD pipelines.

School of Cyber & Decision Sciences - Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity San Bernardino - San Bernardino Campus
The SC&DS seeks a full-time assistant professor to join a growing and dynamic faculty team. CSUSB's cutting edge Cybersecurity program prepares students to address the cybersecurity issues and concerns faced today in many corporate and government environments. The foundation of our Cybersecurity program consists of imparting the skills required to succeed along with a combination of technical skills, policy, teamwork, ethics, and professionalism. In 2022, the Cyber program successfully renewed the NSA/DHS designation of Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). Since receiving the CAE-CD designation, the Center for Cyber and AI has secured a portfolio of $85m in grants and scholarships focused on the cyber workforce. The ideal candidate for this position must have knowledge, skill, and interest in teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence offered by the SC&DS at CSUSB main campus and at Palm Desert. Candidates having a combination of both theory/research and applied/hands-on teaching experiences in the areas of Cybersecurity Management, Ethical hacking - SCADA/IOT, Forensics, Incident Response, applied AI, and hold Industry recognized certifications such as Security+, CISSP, etc. are a plus. A deep understanding of the Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber program as well as the critical workforce frameworks (Department of Defense Cyber Workforce Framework, NIST 800-181) is important for the candidate. Experience working with US Government partners in cyber defense is also desired. The successful candidate will also be expected to advise students, serve on Department, College and University Committees, contribute to and participate in the life and strategic priorities of the SC&DS, and engage in the broader University disciplinary communities.
